The Tekapo - Twizel ride is part of the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail which is rated the most stunning cycle trail in the Southern Hemisphere. This section of the trail is a great day out for people who have time restraints but want to experience a one of the most scenic parts of the trail. Recommended start time is 09:00. Return shuttles ~15:00 from Twizel. Begin the 54km ride from Tekapo, or Twizel (54km). We offer the option of breaking the section into shorter distances. For example, Irishman Creek to the southern end of Lake Pukaki - approx. 30km. The section between the Tekapo B Power Station follows an easy riding trail, around Lake Pukaki's stunning shoreline. This ride can be done in either direction but it is uphill if you start in Twizel.
